Wilma Galassini, nee Brodd, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 11, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 18, 1931. Wilma married her devoted husband of 64 years, Alfred Galassini on November 4, 1950 at St. Priscilla’s in Chicago. She is the beloved mother of Pamela, Steven, Scott (Ernestine Bettini) and Greg (Susan) Galassini . She was a nurturing grandmother of Christopher Mungovan, Nicholas (Megan Smart) Galassini , Matthew Galassini, Katherine Galassini and Lauren Galassini. She was also a doting great-grandmother of Hayley Smart, Alyssa, Logan and Jonathan Galassini.
Wilma was an avid golfer, and was a proud member of the Tri-City Golf League and St. Raymond Golf League at Mt. Prospect Golf Course. She was also a proud alumnus of Steinmetz High School in Chicago.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 15 at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 West Central Road, at Northwest Hwy. Mt. Prospect, IL. A funeral mass in celebration of her glorious life and spirit will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 16 at St. Raymond Church, Elmhurst Rd. (Rt. 83) at Lincoln St. Mt. Prospect, IL.
